Joint pain can quietly shrink your life, from the walks you skip to the stairs you avoid. Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is a treatment that uses a concentrated portion of your own blood.
Platelets carry growth factors involved in the body’s natural repair process. Placing them where you need support is intended to help tissue repair and ease symptoms. Results vary from person to person, and your doctor will tell you honestly what to expect.

Who it may suit
- Knee, hip, or shoulder discomfort
- Wear-related joint pain
- Tendon and soft tissue irritation
- People looking for options alongside exercise and rehabilitation
What to expect
- Consultation. Your doctor reviews your history and goals and confirms whether PRP is a good option for you.
- A small blood draw. We take a small sample of your blood, much like a routine blood test.
- Preparing the plasma. Your sample is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets.
- Treatment. The platelet-rich plasma is applied to the area being treated.
- Follow-up. We explain aftercare and review your progress at your next visit.
