Book a consultationHow it can help
Some wounds are slow to heal, and that can be exhausting to live with. PRP concentrates the platelets from your own blood so they can be applied to support the body’s repair process.
Wound care works best as part of a complete plan. Your doctor will look at what may be slowing healing, such as circulation, blood sugar, or nutrition, and will coordinate with your other care providers where needed.

Who it may suit
- Wounds that are slow to close
- Patients already under wound care who want to discuss added options
- People who want a plan covering nutrition and overall health
What to expect
- Consultation. Your doctor reviews your history and goals and confirms whether PRP is a good option for you.
- A small blood draw. We take a small sample of your blood, much like a routine blood test.
- Preparing the plasma. Your sample is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets.
- Treatment. The platelet-rich plasma is applied to the area being treated.
- Follow-up. We explain aftercare and review your progress at your next visit.
Common questions
Should I stop my current wound care?
No. Keep following your current care plan unless your doctor advises otherwise. Seek urgent care for signs of infection.
How many treatments are needed?
This depends on the wound and how it responds. Your doctor will review progress regularly.
Who should not have PRP?
PRP may not be suitable for people with certain blood or platelet disorders, an active infection in the treatment area, or some other conditions. Your doctor will check this at your consultation.
